Keeping All Women Safe, K.A.W.S. is creating significant impact as we take a stand globally for the increase of Women’s safety, equality and empowerment.  We are working for Zero-Tolerance of violence against our Women and Girls in all cities and locations in the USA and the Globe.

K.A.W.S. is a 501c nonprofit task force founded in 2018 in Ashland, Oregon.  Our work is global, and our home base is presently Southern Oregon.  We are comprised of concerned citizens who have come together to increase the awareness and the reality of continued violence and harassment in many forms, to influence legislature and the systems of plea bargaining, sentencing and terms, and bringing awareness to the lack of safety in the physical layout of stores and businesses.

We require freedom from harassment, stalking, influential coersian, sexual assault, rape, and all violence, feelings of danger, and all hindrances to equality and empowerment.

It shouldn’t have to happen to you for it to matter to you!

Join us in our work to keep all Women and Girls safe.

The mission of K.A.W.S. is to provide a platform for ongoing community awareness and action to create a template for culture change so that every location holds a no tolerance climate. This means the message “Not In My City” is loud and clear regarding violence against Women. This is viewed as a multi-pronged significant presence that requires both Women and Men to become involved in societal/cultural programming, accountability and consequences, legislation and budgeting, lack of reporting, misalignment with consent, and individual/community responsibility.  K.A.W.S. truly stands for Keeping All Women Safe, Strong, and Skilled.

K.A.W.S. approaches these aspects by increasing community awareness and education, safety prevention, trainings including empowerment and societal sensitivity and deconditioning,  and active culture change.  The task force works in close collaboration with Police Departments, Sexual Assault Response Teams,  Advocacy Organizations, Training  Teams, and more.  Validation for the need of our presence continues to expand exponentially.  More key leaders and those in public office are becoming attuned to the need for action in areas that K.A.W.S. has begun to fulfill.  We have accomplished several big projects already in our first year.  See more detail about this in our About Us and Taking Action sections on this website.

This task force is founded and chaired by Alaya Ketani CHT CFT CPC, Executive Director.  Alaya works with great passion to enlist cooperation and create significant change to ensure the civil rights of all who identify as Women, to decrease discrimination, and to empower Women and girls internationally through this task force and in her private practice.  Empowering Girls and Women is her primary passion and she invites full participation from the community in igniting this task force to accomplish its work.  She is a true optimist and believes all things are possible.  This has been evidenced in her life having arisen through catastrophic circumstances when others felt it was impossible.  She is authentically grateful for the opportunity to serve and the possibility to make a difference in the actual archetype of this world’s violent construct, and the fact that Women and Girls continue to be brutalized around this globe, including right here in the USA.

We are an Incorporated Registered 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization, and can only continue with participation and collaboration from the community, as well as tax deductible donations.   Please “Like” and follow our events, announcements and needs by checking back on this website and by clicking this link on our facebook page:   https://www.facebook.com/KeepingAllWomenSafe.  Alaya is available to visit your organizations and businesses to speak about the mission and action of K.A.W.S.

Accomplishments
Wonder what K.A.W.S., Keeping All Women Safe, had accomplished since it’s formation in 2018?

We consistently support, advocate for, and empower Women and Girls while increasing awareness to the community of the need for more safety and equality …. and we do this all with no salaries.
K.A.W.S. is meant to be a template for other locations, and females everywhere are welcome to our events.

Please see the list of successful accomplishments below:

*We were significantly involved in ensuring that a repeat offending male, who had been arrested multiple times, received the maximum sentencing thus ceasing the resulting terror and trauma on the region’s Women and Girls by this individual’s actions.  Our request is for him to receive mental health assistance in a secure facility.

* Provided training to the staff of a very popular retail store where female shoppers were being extensively harassed by male shoppers. There are now fliers in the restrooms advising Women how to proceed if this is occurring.

* Worked with the owner of a very popular in-home service provider  whose representatives had no appropriate identification.  There is now a two-fold system of identification in place.

* Advocated for and mentored countless Women who have experienced violation of numerous forms, in close communication with a city’s police chief and other pertinent individuals and organizations.

*Events Have Included: Public Awareness with the Directors of several agencies, Deep Dialogue – Women and Men , Self Defense with Aaron Ortega, Balance of the Feminine and Masculine Within, Public Awareness/Silent Auction Holiday Party Fundraiser. Our Self Defense and Empowerment Training event was paused due to Covid and the fires, however we hope to offer it semi-annually starting in 2021.

* We are a strong voice for awareness on topics concerning lack of safety and need for culture change.

A high priority is the obtainment of grants to continue our work and expand into specific segments of our population with important culture changing education and trainings.

VISION: We envision a world, starting with our local community, where Women and all people are safe and free from violence and harassment in all forms.

Feel free to offer a donation, purchase a pocket siren or sticker for your car, window, or water bottle, and volunteer as your time requires and in your area of expertise.
